It has been a busy beaver week. Thanksgiving was a wonderfully quiet day on the farm. The temperature got low enough for me to start cooking on the the wood cook stove. Made a few batches of fudge which I will be selling at the flea market this weekend. If the response is good then we’re in the fudge business for, at least, the winter.
Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend.
As many of you may know I had a booth years ago at the flea market. Well, it’s happening again. The booth B22 & 23 will be full of our soaps and lotions, some we don’t sell on line. We’ll also have a array of lamps, night lights (neighbor makes them) and junk. Not really much of a flea market booth without junk!
Am pricing stuff to sell and bringing more in every week.Check our Events page to see when we’ll be there. Every Saturday is the goal but Sundays will be hit and miss.
Looking forward to seeing some friends!
This month at the Knoxville Flea Market I’ve got something new. Night Lights! A neighbor is making them and they are adorable. One even looks like Santa. Will post pictures later, she just brought them by today.
The flea market starts at 3pm on Friday and is free admission.
Another show behind us and not a particularly profitable one so I’d rather think about our milk cows. We have Belle and Lizzy here now. Belle, as you might be able to tell is in a family way. The coming of milk is anxiously awaited as the goats have pretty much gone on strike and there is a limited amount in the freezer. As soon as Belle pops out a baby we will be making butter and taking milk baths!
Lizzy was named for Larry’s first heart attack. If you remember the show Sanford & Son, Fred was always clutching his heart and yelling “I’m coming ‘Lisbeth” so Lizzy. Liz has adopted a heifer calf and caring for her as her own for the past 4 months. The calf’s mom left her for over a day so we just gave it a try and Lizzy was in love at first sight
Hope you are all having a good day. I think I’ll spend some of mine out with the animals.
This weekend from November 8th to the 10th I’ll be at the Christmas Fair put on by Cooper Events. This will be at the Expo Center in on Clinton Hwy (5441 Clinton Hwy, Knoxville. There will be crafts as well as commercial items. Last year was my first time and it was a fun event with lots of gift ideas.
Hope to see you all there!
This Saturday is Mistletoe Marketplace In Fairfield Glade, TN. There will be, as usual, a wonderful selection of crafts. These women know how to bake goodies so come early as they tend to sell fast.
Marketplace starts at 9am and ends around 3pm. Hope to see you there!
